Service Upgrade Steps
All service upgrades require a Technical Safety BC permit or a City of Victoria permit (approx. $400). This cost is included in our pricing. Please note that BC Hydro may also charge additional fees for completing the upgrade.

We will coordinate and apply for your application with BChydro. We require your acceptance of their fee for their portion of the new cabling from the pole to your home. (Approx $850)

We supply a new electrical panel, panel schedule, meterbase, and verify all your circuits through-out your home are up to current Canadian electrical codes. We pride ourselves in installing top quality electrical panels. Your Satisfaction is guaranteed in having a safe, reliable, quality product. (Approx $4000-$7500)

We will thoroughly inspect your home to assure that everything is safe and up to current canadian electrical code standards. And if it requires attention, we can do that work too. Once complete, we provide a final inspection and ask for final payment upon successful completion.

Approximate cost of an amp upgrade is between $4000-$7500. Some installations have additional work. This additional work can include running new branch circuit wiring to the old panel location and installing a large junction boxes or installing surface 2″ conduit on the houses exterior to reach from meterbase to existing panel location.

Yes, BC Hydro has a fee for their service technicians to run new wiring from the pole to your home.

The service mast or point of attachment to the home from bc hydro lines requires structural bolts installed. We require access in the wall to frame these points of attachment and when we are completed we install white paintable cover plates to conceal our holes until repair. Some drywall repair may also be required at the new or old electrical panel location. We do our best to minimize damage.

Yes, we do a thorough run through of your entire house circuits and install a professional printed panel schedule of your entire home.

There are guidelines given to us by BC Hydro and our Canadian Electrical Code. For most basic installations a Maximum of 1 Meter away from the corner building, closest to the Bc-hydro power pole with the electrical panel on the opposing interior wall.
